Attività scientifica
Da sempre SST Clinica Odontoiatrica affianca all’attività clinica un’intensa attività di ricerca scientifica volta al perfezionamento delle tecniche medico-odontoiatriche nell’ottica di fornire il miglior apporto possibile alla scienza medica internazionale e migliorare la salute dentale di tutti i suoi Pazienti. La Clinica ha consolidato negli anni un’attiva collaborazione con importanti centri di ricerca universitari in Italia, in Europa, negli Stati Uniti d’America, nel continente sudamericano e in India. I nostri Medici-odontoiatri, unitamente a tutti gli altri membri dello staff della Clinica, sono ciclicamente impegnati nella frequentazione di corsi di aggiornamento con l’obiettivo di rimanere sempre al passo con i più recenti sviluppi scientifici e condividere le dinamiche operative offerte dalle recenti tecnologie di cui la Clinica si avvale per la cura dei propri Pazienti.
L’attività di ricerca scientifica si esplica nell’ambito dell’anatomia funzionale dell’apparato stomatognatico e delle sue applicazioni cliniche, con particolare attenzione all’analisi quantitativa delle implicazioni funzionali della morfologia cranio-cervico-facciale.
I campi scientifici che ci vedono attivi
- Valutazioni anatomofunzionali della dinamica masticatoria, con ricostruzione tramite modelli matematici del tracciato masticatorio in soggetti normali e con diverse alterazioni dell’occlusione.
- Valutazioni anatomofunzionali della faccia: analisi morfologica quantitativa dello scheletro, dei tessuti molli, dell’attività dei muscoli masticatori, dei tracciati del movimento mandibolare.
- Analisi morfometrica e ricostruzione matematica della morfologia craniofacciale da immagini radiografiche, fotografiche, optoelettroniche ed elettromagnetiche nell’adulto e nel bambino. Definizione di un modello matematico-geometrico della faccia per la definizione di valori di normalità, ed il calcolo del volume facciale.
- Approccio matematico alla definizione di parametri estetici nell’adulto e nel bambino.
- Valutazione di protocolli sperimentali per l’analisi elettromiografica e elettrochinesiografica. Definizione dei valori di riferimento nella popolazione sana (posizioni di riferimento, movimenti mandibolari, attività e asimmetria dei muscoli masticatori), ed applicazioni clinica in implantoprotesi, ortodonzia e disfunzioni craniomandibolari.
- Studio delle caratteristiche morfologiche quantitative bi- e tridimensionali delle arcate alveolodentarie e del palato in soggetti in dentizione permanente, mista e decidua: effetto dell’età, del sesso, dell’etnia e del trattamento.
- Studio integrato longitudinale e trasversale dell’accrescimento craniofacciale in bambini normali (valutazioni della morfologia facciale e della postura di testa e tronco, elettromiografia dei muscoli masticatori, elettrochinesiografia mandibolare).
- Trial clinici controllati di materiali e soluzioni riabilitative innovative.
